After working for different people for a number of year's Greg decided to go it alone under the name “Greg Hilton Carpentry”. He has now decided to re-brand and registered the company under the name of “South Saxon Carpentry”. Greg is not only passionate about wood, but also passionate about his home county of Sussex. The Saxon name for Sussex being “Suth Seaxa” basically translates as “South Saxon”, hence the name evolving from Greg’s original concept of “Suth Seaxa Woodwork”. Greg is now living in Uckfield, East Sussex and works in the surrounding areas, including the Sussex and Kent Weald. From a shelf to a roof making wood work for you!! At South Saxon Carpentry we are passionate about wood. Greg Hilton started an apprenticeship in cabinet making aged 16 and two year’s later achieved a City and Guilds in Furniture Making. Greg went on to restoring antique furniture before embarking on a spell in Western Australia working on some wood veneer projects. On returning to England he then moved on to working within the carpentry and joinery trade, being involved with building restoration, renovation and re-furbishment as well as new builds. Greg has over thirty year’s experience providing a comprehensive and conscientious approach to his work, from a shelf to a roof, making wood work for you! |
